Elaine Dunbar has over 20 years teaching and performing experience in the areas of music and musical theatre. She holds a degree in Theatre Acting from Ryerson University of Toronto, a degree in Singing Performance from the Royal Conservatory of Music and a degree in Piano Performance (with Distinction) from the University of Alberta. In addition to her university studies, she has studied at the Banff Centre and at the Johanneson International School of the Arts.
Elaine has performed as an actor/soloist/musical director throughout Alberta and Ontario in productions including "Lullaby of Broadway" (Union Theatre, Waterloo), "The Winter's Tale" (Ry-Theatre, Toronto), and "Clara" at the Edmonton Fringe. She is also a classical soloist and has performed two full seasons with Pro Coro Canada.
Currently, Elaine is a private teacher of piano and voice, a teacher of musical theatre at the Citadel's Foote Theatre School, and adjudicator, examiner for RCM exams, and choral conductor for Columbian Choirs and Grace United Church.
Elaine is the mother of twins (boy and girl) in grade nine and a daughter in grade twelve.
